Climate Studies IBPOC Student Support Fund

The Climate Studies IBPOC Student Support Fund provides assistance to undergraduate students from Indigenous, Black and other racialized communities of colour who are studying climate change at UBC.

The fund operates in the spirit of repair – to recognize and help address the inequities that IBPOC students face, and the underrepresentation of IBPOC people in climate research in Canada, acknowledging the vital perspectives they bring to understanding and addressing the climate emergency.

Funds will assist in providing recipients with critical learning opportunities, helping to build future generations of climate researchers and community leaders.

Established by the Departments of Geography and Earth, Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences, this fund is in line with UBC’s stated commitment to climate justice action, to antiracism and inclusive excellence, and to Indigenous reconciliation.
