The 2019/20 Teaching Assistant Awards and Stellar Staff Award were conferred remotely this year, but recognize more than ever the exceptional work and effort put in by their recipients!
Teaching Assistant Awards acknowledge the significant contribution that teaching assistants make to undergraduate education, as they play a large role in shaping undergraduates’ learning experiences.
Ordinarily, the department awards two TAs annually, but in light of the challenges of moving to online teaching, and the dedication of our graduate students, four people were recognized for their work this year; Chris Reimer, Gabriele Dumpys Woolever, James Kevin Pierce and Kyle Wlodarczyk.
The graduate programme staff assess TA evaluations, and the Associate Head, Graduate program makes the final determination.
System Administrator, and member of the department’s IT team, Julie Ranada received this year’s Stellar Staff Award.
This recognizes staff members who have made an outstanding contribution to the department.
Staff, faculty and students all nominated Julie, as her kind, patient and tireless efforts have kept us online in this most challenging of years.
