We invite you to the grand opening of Emerging Media Lab’s new space in the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre. Through collaborations between UBC IT, UBC Library, and the Centre for Teaching, Learning and Technology, there is now a more public and accessible space for EML in the heart of campus for all who are interested in emerging media technology.
EML is an experimental space where faculty, students, and staff from all disciplines collaborate with industry and community. Its mission is to evolve learning by creating tools and techniques using emerging media including Augmented, Mixed, and Virtual Reality.
In celebration of this grand opening, EML invites you to experience eight of our VR/AR experiences and to come to our panel discussion featuring four of our faculty members who use emerging technologies to enhance student education. Kathryn Gretsinger of the Graduate School of Journalism is the emcee for this event.
