Graeme Wynn Elected President of ASEH



Congratulations Professor Graeme Wynn!

The concluding session of the 2015 annual meeting of the American Society for Environmental History in Washington DC saw UBC geographer Graeme Wynn acclaimed as Vice-President (2015-17) and President-elect (2017-2019) of the Society.  He is the first Canadian and first geographer to serve in these roles in the forty-year history of the society. ASEH is the world’s oldest and most vigorous organization promoting understanding of human-environment interactions, from the earliest periods of human history to the crucial issues of our own time and across the world’s diverse societies and ecosystems. A non-profit scholarly organization, ASEH has an international and interdisciplinary membership, promotes research and teaching in environmental history, fosters public outreach, and supports members’ professional needs. It holds an annual conference and publishes  Environmental History  with Oxford University Press.
