About

As an Academic Computing Specialist, I support the diverse research computing needs of both faculty and graduate students within the department. I often provide assistance in identifying, applying for, and leveraging digital research infrastructure for both cloud and high-performance computing through internal or remote resources via providers like UBC Advanced Research Computing or the Digital Research Alliance. Additionally, I provide support within the department on various programming tasks using languages like Python, JavaScript, and R.

With a background in library and information studies, I also have expertise in supporting research data management, developing digital humanities projects, and providing instructional support. I’m very interested in green and frugal computing along with developing computational workflows and projects that are reproducible and easily preserved.

I often gather documentation and resources relevant to geography-focused research computing in a GitHub repository, which is published as a website here.
