On 27 September, Adjunct Professor Richard Mackie gave the 5th annual Haig-Brown Memorial Lecture at the Museum at Campbell River. His lecture was also published as a chapbook entitled “The Local Muse: Roderick Haig-Brown and Vancouver Island,” by the Campbell River Community Arts Council. The following day, World Rivers Day, Mackie also spoke at the 13th annual Haig-Brown Festival in Campbell River.
In Spring 2015, Mackie will teach a course for the UBC Writing Centre, “Publishing Academic Writing for Different Audiences.”
